Safety Inspection


Our parent company -Wicksteed Leisure is a member of the Register of Play Inspectors International Limited (RPII) and has a nationwide team of Inspection and Maintenance Engineers who will check and assess your playground, sports equipment and safety surfacing in accordance with BS EN 1176:1998 - Playground Equipment, BS EN 1177:1997 - Impact Absorbing Playground Surfacing, BS PAS 30:1998 - Outdoor Recreation Multi-Sport Equipment and BS PAS 35:2001 - Wheeled Sports Equipment.

Risk Assessment


A Risk Assessment service is available to enable playground operators to fulfil the requirements of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992. Wicksteed Inspectors use their experience and training to identify and categorise any risks they may detect during the Inspection process and make the appropriate recommendation for remedial work.

DDA Audit


The final part of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 came into force in October 2004 when reasonable adjustments to physical features to overcome physical barriers to access became the legal responsibility of public service providers. A playground provider must take reasonable steps to enable disabled children and their parents/carers to use the play area and each play area should be assessed on its own merits. Wicksteed offers a DDA Audit service to assess playground installations and submit recommendations for any necessary adjustments.
