Mclays - Skyscraper steals the show

At the recent Scotsturf 2003 Exhibition at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh, the new Skyscraper 4-face Climbing Wall was the star of Mclays' stand. Just one of a range of new concepts in play equipment Mclays Supplies Limited featured, the Skyscraper was sold within an hour of the doors opening! The early bird who snapped it up left many other visitors temporarily disappointed until their Skyscraper orders are filled in the very near future.

SKYSCRAPER - HUGE SUCCESS FOR MCLAYS

This interest was typical of the success Mclays experienced by attending the exhibition. A wholly owned subsidiary of Wicksteed Leisure Limited, Mclays have a far wider range of sports and play equipment to offer Scottish customers than any other company.

"We were proud to display both Mclays' and Wicksteed's logos on our stand," explained Norman Hopkins, Mclays' Sales Manager. "Our Scottish customers recognise that we at Mclays understand our country's market, whilst appreciating the strength of Wicksteed's name behind ours."

The Mclays team took actual orders on the stand for some £50,000 of equipment. Other items on display, many of them also sold 'off the stand' were the Nursery Rhymes Tom Thumb multi-play unit for toddlers, a range of Spring Mobiles, new Crazy Mirrors which promote integrated play, the Speedway Roundabout and 123-ABC Tactile Panel, both newly launched this year, and - from the extensive outdoor furniture range - Annick Seats and the new vandal resistant Metal Windsor Picnic Table.

Customers travelled to Edinburgh from as far as The Highlands and Aberdeen. "Judging by the reception we were given at Scotsturf," enthused Norman, "I'm sure many visitors to our stand will agree that it was the most successful Scottish show ever. From our point of view, it certainly was; innovations from Wicksteed have helped raise our profile and added significant impetus to Mclays' success this year."
