Wicksteed Safety Tiles

Maintenance
In the event of localised damage or vandalism, tiles can be replaced quickly and easily. They are virtually maintenance free, needing nothing more than the minimum attention you'd give any synthetic surface.

Guarantee
Wicksteed Safety Tiles have a 5-year guarantee, excluding normal wear and tear, accidental damage and acts of vandalism.

Colours
Our tiles are available in Black, Red and Green.

Each thickness of Wicksteed Safety Tiles has been tested in accordance with and certified to BS EN 1177:1998 and
BS 7188:1998.

Wicksteed Safety Tiles are suitable for all installations where safety surfacing is a requirement, up to the appropriate Maximum Free Fall Height (see chart).

The surface of Wicksteed Safety Tiles is slip-resistant and non-abrasive to young hands and knees and its porous structure allows water to drain away, which limits ice forming in the winter. They can be laid throughout the year in almost any weather conditions.

All Wicksteed Safety Tiles are a nominal 1m square, with a cruciform pattern, and are available in thicknesses of 33mm, 40mm, 55mm and 85mm.

Base
Wicksteed Safety Tiles should be installed onto a concrete base using Wicksteed Tile Adhesive to bond the tiles to the base.

Manufacture and materials
Wicksteed Safety Tiles are manufactured under controlled conditions at our factory in Northamptonshire and are included in the company's registration under BS EN ISO 9001:2000. The tiles are made from recycled rubber. The rubber shreds are graded to ensure exceptional consistency of texture and then bonded with a special polyurethane resin at a high temperature under pressure. They have a moulded base - a support structure designed to deform progressively on impact, absorbing much of the energy of a fall.

Technical information and installation
Wicksteed provide you with a complete supply and installation service for our Safety Tiles, but if you wish to install them yourself, please ask for our separate Safety Surfacing Technical Information and Installation Guidelines, which includes technical information relating to base preparation, installation, care and maintenance, etc.
