TV votes bring cash injection to village community

The residents fought off competition to win funding from The People’s Millions – at TV contest which relies on viewers’ votes - and were lucky enough to walk away with the money!

The £26,000 from the Big Lottery Fund meant that the village community was able to go ahead and create their own play space in a residential area where approximately 50 children currently reside.

Play park organiser, Donna Smart, delighted with the result, said: “We’re absolutely over the moon, just chuffed to bits!”  Very much a community effort, Donna was also keen to point out that the whole community rallied round, “just as I thought they would!”

Glasgow-based Mclays provided the exciting and varied equipment – suitable for young children with all abilities - including Mystical World, a colourful and challenging multi-play system for the younger age range and a Donkey Springie unit with an endearing face!

Everyone thinks the new play area is fantastic and the children are already making full use of this exciting new recreational facility.

Further monies raised by the Council will be used to purchase seating and other extras for the play area.

Mclays' offers a supply and installation service throughout Scotland.
